What are Archetypes?

Archetypes

Medic – A medic is not a doctor or nurse. They have some medical knowledge such as cpr, Heimlich maneuver, first aid, how to treat shock, other life saving techniques above and beyond basic or common knowledge, other resuscitation techniques other than cpr, knowledge about some drugs, and how to stabilize people. They have more medical knowledge than the average person but far less than a doctor or nurse.
Field Medic – these are not doctors or nurses. These are people who are trained during wartime and assigned to units to attend to the wounded. They are basically trained to keep the person alive until they can be taken for medical treatment at a field hospital or other facility that contains a fully trained medical staff.
Mechanic – Mechanics are good with tools. They know machines and engines. They know what makes them tick and they know how to fix them.
Doctor – There are many different subfields of doctors: Cardiologists, neurologists, surgeons, neonatal care, emergency care, etc. But what all these things have in common is lots and lots of schooling. Doctors go to college and have a BA or a BS before going to medical school and then a residency at a hospital or clinic. This takes time, so no Doogie Howser knock-offs.
Small Town Doctor – In some remote areas of the Border and some areas of the Rim a doctor may not have as much schooling. Instead they would gain their knowledge through apprenticeship with the local doctor. This apprenticeship could start as early as age 12.
